Never ever lay double digits in the NFL -- or college football

Getting Rich with Saber by Richard Saber |

last week

I firmly stated here last week to never ever lay double digits in the NFL. Now I’m using the same strategy in college football.

If you like a team giving double digits, just pass and move on. If you like a team getting double digits, dig deep and double up.

BC -8 at NC State: The Eagles will get a beat up Wolfpack team who has played three straight tough games – Clemson, East Carolina and South Florida. BC.

Rutgers +14 at W. Virginia: Just can’t see WVU as a two touchdown favorite. Rutgers will be all out to salvage its season. RUTGERS.

S. Carolina +3 at Ole Miss: After losing to Vandy, Ole Miss comes back and beats GamingToday No. 1 Florida in its own backyard. After a week of celebrating, I don’t see the Rebels getting up for yet another physical game. S. CAROLINA.

Auburn -4 at Vandy: Tigers will be lucky to win by a field goal against Vandy, which is 4-0 SU/ATS with convincing wins over S. Carolina and Ole Miss. VANDY.

Stanford +7½ at Notre Dame: Both teams are coming off good victories. This one will be close with the possibility of a straight out win by the Cardinal. STANFORD.

Kentucky +17 at Alabama: Maybe one of the best plays of the week. Tide coming off a huge win over Georgia, while Kentucky is giving up a scant 7 per game. I will go bust on the Wildcats if they don’t cover. KENTUCKY.

N. Illinois +16 at Tennessee: The Vols biggest output so far this year was when they scored 35 against UAB. The Huskies not only can play some defense, but put points on the board. N. ILLINOIS.

Ball St -7 at Toledo: We’ll ride it out with the Cardinals, now 5-0 both SU and ATS with wins over Navy and Indiana. They are an offensive juggernaut and score from anywhere on the field. BALL ST.

Ohio St -3 at Wisconsin: This one is a no brainer. The Badgers are 27-1 SU at Camp Randall Stadium since 2004, losing only to Iowa three years ago. Badgers ‘D’ and the 81,000 fans get it done. WISCONSIN.

These were the double-digit point spreads that I was going to get involved with, but decided to pass. We’ll watch and see how they fare:

South Florida -13½, Utah -11½, Michigan State -10, Maryland -13½, Texas -13½, Florida -23, Bowling Green -21, Nevada -24½, Oklahoma St -24, New Mexico -11, Fresno State -22½ and Virginia Tech -28½.

KC Chiefs +9½, Lions +2½, Falcons +7, Bengals +16.

FLASH: The Steubenville Big Red ran their streak to 56 with a big 14-0 win over Columbus Watterson before a standing room only crowd in the state capitol.
