BASEBALL, 4:35 p.m. PT U.S. Cellular Park, Chicago White Sox -145 vs Twins (9) One game for either a trip to the playoffs at Tampa Bay or bust. TBS has the action on TV, while ESPN does the radio. The White Sox are looking to become the first team in major league history to win three straight games in successive days against different opponents. Chicago set up today’s playoff with an 8-2 win over Detroit, keyed an Alexei Ramirez grand slam that snapped a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning. The White Sox clearly have the momentum and John Danks (11-9, 3.47 ERA) has the better season numbers than his mound opponent Nick Blackburn (11-10, 4.14). There is little to choose from between the teams other than the home-road disparity in this series. The Twins are 8-1 against the White Sox at the Metrodome. Chicago is 7-2 against Minnesota at the Cell, including five straight wins. That’s hard to buck. WHITE SOX.
