by GT Staff | In connection with the $25 million remodeling of its renowned Volcano, the Mirage has created a network link at its website offering visitors an interactive way to experience the transformation first-hand.

There is a video channel highlighting the creative process, a blog with construction updates and an opportunity to win a trip to the unveiling later this year.

The site’s video channel provides a behind-the-scenes look at the creation process including pieces with project team members and Grammy Award-winning Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart and Indian musical virtuoso Zakir Hussain who are collaborating on the soundtrack for The Volcano remodel.

The Mirage Volcano Memories Center will let visitors enter a contest to try and win a trip for two to see the new volcano erupt on Dec. 8. To enter, participants share their memories of The Mirage Volcano through words, pictures and images uploaded to The Volcano social network.

The lucky winner and a guest will be flown to Las Vegas for a stay at The Mirage and experience The Volcano’s unveiling event. The grand prize includes round-trip coach air transportation for two; three days and two night in deluxe room accommodations at The Mirage; VIP access for two to The Mirage Volcano Premiere and after-party; dinner for two at STACK American Bistro; spa treatments for two at The Mirage Spa; and two passes to Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. The winner will also get to meet the creators of the newly remodeled Strip-front extravaganza.
