Brewers -110 vs Phillies (9)

The Brewers were doomed before this best of 5 series began when CC Sabathia was forced to pitch last Sunday just to get into the playoffs. With their other ace Ben Sheets injured and CC forced to pitch a fourth straight time on three days rest, Milwaukee’s starting staff has become a shambles. Today it’s do or die with right-hander Dave Bush, who surprisingly is a slight favorite over the ageless lefty Jamie Moyer.

At 45, Moyer produced a stellar 16-7 regular season record with a 3.71 ERA. He’s a craftsman, who gets people out with junk and pinpoint accuracy. Bush was a mediocre 9-10 during the regular season with no decisions in his last three starts. The Phils won the first two in Philadelphia, getting big contributions from unsung heroes Shane Victorino and Jayson Werth. The day off also helped rested Brad Lidge, who has not blown a save this year. Getting Philly as a favorite is a bargain. PHILLIES.
