CBS college football channel (333 on Cox cable) is under the radar, but a nice contrast to ESPN’s "in your face" presentation.

The 333 primetime game last week was Rice-Tulsa, which I had money on. I recommended an over play in GT since the books don’t go to 100. They put up 91, well above the projected 79. And we have a few more shootouts to win with this week.

NCAA

Clemson +3 at W. Forest: Put another wound in Tommy Bowden’s pinata. WAKE.

Louisville -7 at Memphis: The Tigers rise up in an ESPN Friday special. MEMPHIS.

E. Carolina -4½ vs Virginia: ECU is in a funk, but Wahoos are on a Maryland high. VIRGINIA.

Minnesota +11½ at Illinois: The Hoosiers will turn the "Juice" on a Gopher. ILLINOIS.

Texas -7 at Oklahoma (NT): The ’Horns and Sooners a combined 9-0 against the spread. That sure suggests total. OVER.

Iowa State +3½ vs Baylor: The visiting Cyclones had Kansas beat, but then they’re Iowa State. Baylor understands this isn’t Oklahoma. BAYLOR.

Vandy -1 at Miss State: The Commodores will be in for a fight, but the Bulldogs are offensively challenged. VANDY.

UCLA +17 at Oregon: Ducks on the pond? Maybe for USC, not for these Bruins. OREGON.

Toledo +16½ at Michigan: The Wolverines were spanked by the Illini and in no position to spot this many points. TOLEDO.

Okla St +13½ at Mizzou (NT): Remember what I said about Rice-Tulsa? The 5-0 Tigers haven’t had a 3-and-out all season! OVER.

Penn St -4½ at Wisc: Where’s Barry Alvarez? JoePa wants to know. Losses to Michigan, Ohio State and now... PENN ST.

Tulane +5½ at utep: After what Army did to Tulane, El Paso, El Paso is smelling blood. UTEP.

C. Florida +15 at Miami: The ‘Canes left it all on the field in a loss to Florida State. UCF has waited years to face the U. UCF.

Middle Tenn +1 at Fla Intl: MTSU beat FIU’s step-sister FAU on the game’s final play. That won’t happen this time. FIU.

Nebraska +20 at Texas Tech: After successive losses to Va Tech and Missouri, Huskers set to be shucked in Lubbock. TX TECH.

Colorado +14 at Kansas: The Jayhawks escaped Iowa State. The Buffs were branded by Texas and ripe for another kill. KANSAS.

Tulsa -25 at smu (NT): The Golden Hurricane are 5-0 and have scored 45, 56, 56, 62 and 63. Last week SMU allowed a season- low 31 to Central Florida. OVER.

NFL

Ravens +6 at Colts: Indy could easily be 0-4 and new Lucas Oil Stadium hasn’t been a homefield advantage. RAVENS.

Bengals +6 at Jets: Two weeks off for the NY Bretts could mean 6 more TDs. JETS.

Panthers +3 at Bucs: Carolina has the superior running game and quarterback. PANTHERS.

Bears -2½ at Falcons: Kyle Orton is throwing for more yards every week. This is the best ‘D’ Atlanta has faced. BEARS.

Packers +2½ at Seahawks: Mike Holmgren should have quit before the season. PACKERS.

Raiders +7 at Saints: Look for Oakland to play hard for the "Cable Guy." Saints are off short week. RAIDERS.

Cowboys -5½ at Cards (48½): Best game on the slate. There will be no shortage of points here. Could be in the 60s. OVER.
