When you win three weeks in a row with one team, that makes them your buddy.

I may never bet against Florida International again, unless, of course, they lose. That could come this week against Troy, but we’ll get to that later.

As for the NFL, I saw on my screen Minnesota 2, Detroit 0 and skipped to this week’s games.

BYU -2 at TCU: The Cougars have been biding their time until this key Thursday night Mountain West matchup. TCU can’t match BYU’s firepower. BYU.

Ga Tech +2 at Clemson: What will it take to convince linesmakers that Clemson isn’t that good? Throw that Gardner-Webb score out the window. Tech has the better coach and team. GA TECH.

Miami -5 at Duke: Believe me, if UCF just had a QB Miami was toast. Duke actually has a chance to win. DUKE.

Wisconsin +3½ at Iowa: The bottom has dropped out of the Badgers season. Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz could really use a win here to keep his job. IOWA.

Nebraska -6 at Iowa St: The Huskers nearly pulled off the upset at Texas Tech. No such trouble here. NEBRASKA.

Miss St +8½ at Tennessee: The Vols had major problems at home with Northern Illinois. MSU is off the win at Vandy and hungry for more Tennessee meat. MISS ST.

Ole Miss +13½ at Alabama: The Tide will be a big favorite, which is just fine with us. Ole Miss loses games close. OLE MISS.

Oregon St -14 at Washington: Washington, Washington State – what’s the difference? Not much to the Beavers. OREGON ST.

Syracuse +24 at South Florida: Yes Syracuse is bad, but no way South Florida should be laying this many points. SYRACUSE.

Marshall -3 at UAB: The host Blazers nearly beat Memphis and are a live home underdog against a Marshall program sadly on the decline. UAB.

LSU -3½ at South Carolina: Spurrier’s offense is now scoring no matter who is at QB. The Tigers won’t find Columbia any nicer than Gainesville. S. CAROLINA.

Indiana +16½ at Illinois: Juice Williams threw for over 400 yards and managed just 20 points against Minnesota. That won’t happen here against the sagging Hoosiers. ILLINOIS.

Baylor +16½ at Oklahoma St: Upset alert! The Cowboys best not party too much after upsetting Missouri. Baylor is on the improve. BAYLOR.

Stanford +2½ at UCLA: The Bruins showed signs of life against Oregon. Stanford playing hard for Harbaugh, but Bruins due. UCLA.

Fla Intl +8½ at Troy: Finally a home game for Troy. Be careful what you wish for. FIU may be the hottest team in the Sun Belt. FIU.

FAU +1 at Western Kentucky: Florida Atlantic has QB concerns. Can’t see the Owls beating anyone right now. W. KENTUCKY.

Jets -3 at Raiders: Not even "Heidi" can save the Raiders. Love the old Jets uniforms. JETS.

Ravens +3 at Dolphins: Saw Baltimore sliced and diced at Indy. Miami now living the high life as a favorite. DOLPHINS.

49ers +12 at Giants: Teams giving double-digits just aren’t covering. Try 0-9. 49ERS.

Saints +3 at Panthers: Just maybe New Orleans will finally come marching in on the road. SAINTS.

Titans -7 at Chiefs: Tennessee doesn’t score much and KC still can be tough at home. CHIEFS.

Chargers PK at Bills: Buffalo improved, but not in San Diego’s class yet. CHARGERS.
