On The Mark by Mark Mayer | With extra protection applied to each pinkie, we’re ready to make us some money.

last week

N’western -9 at Indiana: Who doesn’t beat Indiana these days? NORTHWESTERN.

Minnesota PK at Purdue: The Golden Gophers are 6-1, have had two weeks off, and get Purdue on the skids. MINNESOTA.

UNLV +23 at BYU: The Rebels won’t have to worry about blowing a lead this week. However, the Cougars looked confused at TCU and wouldn’t beat UCLA 59-0 now. UNLV.

Oklahoma St +12 at Texas: The Longhorns are due to have an off game, right? Well, we’re hoping so against these unbeaten Cowboys. OKLA ST.

New Mexico St -15 at Idaho: Maybe New Mexico State plays better on the road. At least they did at Nevada. It’s always a good play to go against Idaho. N. MEXICO ST.

Baylor +10½ at Nebraska: The Cornhuskers are playing inspired football. Baylor was a couple of weeks ago. NEBRASKA.

USC -15 at Arizona: The host Wildcats were on fire in the second half against Cal. If they can recapture that frenzy, USC could be in for a fight. This isn’t Washington State. ARIZONA.

Middle Tenn +11½ at Miss St: This line is absurd. MTSU beat Maryland, lost to Kentucky by 6 and had Louisville down 14-0. The host Bulldogs don’t have that kind of firepower. MTSU.

Penn St -2 at Ohio St: After seeing the Nittany Lions score 39 straight on Michigan after being down 10, I’m sold. Buckeyes improving, but come up short. PENN ST.

Missouri -21 at Colorado: From what happened at Texas, QB Chase Daniel and the Tigers go on a buffalo stampede. Colorado needs a QB not related to the coach. MISSOURI.

Cincinnati +1 at UConn: The Huskies shouldn’t be favored. Cincy by far has the better offense. CINCINNATI.

UCLA +17½ at Cal: The Bruins easily covered a similar spread at Oregon. Plus, UCLA is off an exciting win over Stanford. Cal QB Longshore is an INT waiting to happen. UCLA.

Wake Forest +3 at Miami: The Deacons were blanked at Maryland and don’t figure to have any better luck against the fleet Hurricanes. MIAMI.

Duke +10 at Vanderbilt: After tough SEC losses to Mississippi State and Georgia, the Commodores won’t adore this matchup. But, Duke will. DUKE.

After last week, why do I bother?

Bills -1 at Dolphins: Buffalo believes in Trent Edwards and why not? Fish back to reality. BILLS.

Falcons +9 at Eagles: I recall a trend that says Atlanta plays well coming off a bye week. I hope Matt Ryan knows that. FALCONS.

Seahawks -6 at 49ers: Frisco will love seeing Seattle after facing Philly and the Giants. 49ERS.

Browns +7 at Jags: Cleveland has become a very good cover team, lose or win. BROWNS.

Colts +4 at Titans: Tennessee is 6-0 ATS and Peyton Manning isn’t Peyton Manning. TITANS.
