SABER , JERRY’S: IT’S A BREEDERS’ BLOWOUT!

Analysis, contests – it’s all good this Breeders’ Cup Week. First up is the inaugural Breeders’ Cup Handicapping Seminar at 6 p.m. this Thursday at Palace Station. The seminar will be hosted by GamingToday horse racing analyst Richard Saber. On the panel with Richard will be resident handicapper at Palace Station Vic Vivio and California horse racing radio personality Ralph Siraco. Best yet, it’s free to the public.

NUGGET CONTEST: Jerry’s Nugget will be holding a Breeders’ Cup handicapping contest with guaranteed payouts up to $500. It costs just $10 to enter with a cap at three entries. A special edition souvenir glass will be given for a minimum $10 wager on any Cup race. Those playing a matchup parlay card get a Jerry’s Nugget polo shirt with a $25 minimum wager. Use those Palace Station picks!

NEARLY $120K ALIVE IN NFL PROGRESSIVES

If you like weekly contests worth major bucks then check out the NFL Progressive Contests at both Caesars Palace and Lucky’s. The Caesars pot has risen to $69,009, while Lucky’s has climbed to $48,000. Neither produced a single winner.

NBA over/under win totals: With the NBA regular season set to start next Tuesday, the Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook has released its over/under projected win totals for all 30 teams (see page 16). Interestingly, the defending champion Boston Celtics are listed at 53½, second to league runner-up Los Angeles Lakers (54½). Last year the Celtics led the NBA with 66 wins during the regular season, making this year’s figure look like a bargain. The Memphis Grizzlies are at the bottom of the list at 22½ wins. The Grizzlies won 22 last year.
