Tampa Bay Rays at Philadelphia Phillies (FOX, 8ET/7CT/5PT): Last week we picked the PHILLIES in six games, despite the fact our heart was heavily with the upstart Rays. So far so good. No matter what happened in Sunday night’s Game 4 in the City of Brotherly Love, the lean here tonight is with the PHILLIES and ace Cole Hamels who will likely be opposed by Rays southpaw Scott Kazmir.

Knowing they may have to return to the Sunshine State, Philadelphia will put forth maximum effort and this team seems to field and hit well when Hamels is on the bump. Also statistically, the Phillies have now won 23 of 29 at Citizens Bank Park and may be 2-0 vs TB if they won there last night. The Rays have lost 12 of their last 16 away from home against left-handed pitching.

Also notable is the fact the Rays have gone 4-0-1 under in the last five against NL southpaws, while the Phillies are 9-3-1 to the low side in their last 13 postseason games. John Kelly, host of the nightly 10 p.m. "Leroy’s Sports Hour" on KLAV 1360-AM – where GamingToday’s very own Mark Mayer will be a co-host on Tuesday night – always preaches about betting "important games" under the total. Well this is a very important game and the way the big sticks on both teams have gone quiet, leaning toward the UNDER (if it’s 8 or 7½) is a nice angle but my pick in Game 5 is the PHILLIES.

Until pitchers and catchers report to training camp, this is a wrap for this column. It’s been an absolute pleasure writing about our National Pastime on GT’s website and trying to help the astute gamble that reads as much as possible try and win a little green paper. Bonswa.
