The Nevada Assembly voted 38-4 to pass a state lottery.

Its illegal to have a lottery in the state of Nevada. The state constitution specifically forbids a lottery of any kind.

To over turn the constitutional ban on lotteries, it must be approved by two consecutive sessions of the legislature. Then the people will vote upon the issue.

The proceeds from the lottery would go to education and senior citizens.

Nevada is only one of 10 states not to have a lottery.
