Horse Racing Betting Tips by Richard Saber |

Hollywood Park Opening Day

Race 1

No.5 Noble Courage just could find himself on the front end today, if that happens he just may have found a field he can beat and the price will be right. No.8 Solo Performance exits the same race, he gets the best post and the best jock takes over. 5-8

Race 2

No.4 Forty Dates gets her second start for trainer O’Neill, if able to move forward of her last she will be tough today. No.7 Spanish Ice is the horses to beat at a short price. 4-7

Race 3

No.2 Kayd Kodaun is in from Ireland for trainer Paddy Gallagher, this 3yo fillie looks very live in this spot and is 6/1 on the morning line. No 3 Unusual Heather has run three top Notch races on the synthetic and Now tries the grass but is bred in the purple to handle the green. No.5 Unusually Hot exits hour HTW list, she is 2 for 2 sprinting on the grass and Now will go long. 2-3-5

Key Play

$1 pick three

1st 5-8

2nd 4-7

3rd 2-3-5 for $12

$2 exacta box 2-3-5 for $12

$1 tri box 2-3-5 for $6

Race 4

No.3 Galayo is a first time starter out of the John Shirreffs barn who goes 1 1/16 in his first start. This is a difficult task for a first time maiden let alone a 2 yo but if anyone can pull it off it is the combo of Mike Smith and John Shirreffs. No.5 I Want Revenge has been sprinting like he wants longer but could be just a hanger and the price will be much to short. No. 6 Hurley’s Way was claimed one back for 100k by an ultra sharp outfit and may be ready for the maiden breaker as these guys just don’t go around tossing 100k around for fun. No.7 Massone is another hanger but should get a piece. 3-5-6-7

Race 5

No.1 Isipingo comes off the layoff but likes this layout. No. 4 Fernely has been facing much tougher and No.5 Trimaran won his first on the West Coast and looks like he loves the harder turf courses. 1-4-5

Race 6

No.3 Black Eyed Lady is rounding into form for trainer Harty and will be making a good late run with Sutherland in the irons. No.6 Stuttgart gets Gomez in the irons for Sadler and that means she is on GO! No.8 L’Aziza has speed but bobbled in her last at the start and that cost her, look for a better effort today. 3-6-8

Key Play

$1 pick three

4th 3-5-6-7

5th 1-4-5

6th 3-6-8 for $36

Race 7

No. 2 Queen Of the Catsle has four wins and three seconds from seven starts sprinting on the grass, she has beaten almost everyone in this field, she will be odds on. No.2

Race 8

This race appears to be wide open. No. 1 Greedy Way and No.3 Case Study will get into a speed duel unless one takes back but don’t think that will happen, this could set things up for a closer depending on how the track is playing today so watch those early races to see if the speed is holding or if closers can make up the ground in the stretch. No.7 Samwise don’t win many but could get the perfect set up with Rosario on board, we will take a shot with him. No.7

Key Play

$10 win and place 7 for $20

Golden Gate Fields

With a ton of speed in here things may get set up for No.6 Ex Angel who is 6/1 on the morning line, she may have to run down the chalk No.2 Chu Shy Shy. 2-6

Key Play

$4 Q 2-6 for $4

$6 win and place 6 for $12

Race 2

No.1 Vegas Lord will be over bet and we will try and beat him using No.5 Squallcreek who gets the ultimate equipment change as R. Baze takes over the mount. We will also use No.6 Yacht Spotter who has three wins and a second on this turf course. 1-5-6

Key Play

$2 double

1st 2-6

2nd 1-5-6 for $12

$1 tri box 1-5-6 for $6

Race 3

1-7

Race 4

No.6 Galinda just cruised home in the maiden breaker at this distance on October 12 and may be able to face winners. No. 9 Perfectly Sweet has speed and the 4yo has been facing much tougher down south, she will try and take them wire to wire on the stretch out. 6-9

Race 5

No.1 J.R.’s Power never ran a step in his last but gets his second start for this top barn and may go better today at a big price. No.5 Alias Wildfire will be odds on and he will take some beating. 1-5

Key Play

$1 pick three

3rd 1-7

4th 6-9

5th 1-5 for $8

Race 6

No.3 Thainty has won two straight and is set for another big effort. No. 5 Marenka just ran second behind Thainty in her last start and will try and turn the tables. 3-5

Key Play

$10 Q 3-5 for $10

Race 7

2 yo maiden fillies running 5 furlongs for a claiming price of $12,500 we will use an all in this race and try and get a big payoff with our single in race eight. All 9

Race 8

We are taking a shot with No.8 Forestry’s Fire who is 8/1 on the morning line, he exits a key race and jockey Kaenel got to know him last time out. 8

Key Play

$1 pick three
