South Florida -2 ½ at Cincinnati
Both teams are coming off tough losses, though Cincinnati really took it on the chin at Connecticut (40-16). The 40 points allowed by the Bearcats to the Huskies is especially troubling since Connecticut isn’t known as an offensive juggernaut. Now, they face a Bulls offense that has lost two of their last three (Pitt and Louisville) and desperately needs a victory to stay in the Big East title hunt. Despite the losses, USF still has solid players on both sides of the ball, and its defense is among the top 10 percent in most categories, including the all-important ability to stop teams on third down (30.5 percent, ranked 12th in NCAA). The Bulls look like the better team and the 2 ½ point line is a small price to pay in this spot. South Florida -2 1/2 points.
