The Nevada Gaming Commission today will consider the Peppermill Hotel’s application to offer pari-mutuel horse betting at its Reno property.

The commission, which meets today in Las Vegas, is expected to approve the application; the Gaming Control Board recommended approval earlier this month.

The Peppermill’s race book is in place and ready to open on Friday, just in time for Preakness action on Saturday. The recently-completed facility has a 24-screen video wall and will offer satellite betting on all major thoroughbred racetracks.
