While Hevad Khan was winning the $1 million first prize at the Caesars Palace Poker Classic, Frenchman Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier captured the month-long Festa al Lago VI and $1.4 million at the Bellagio.

The annual event featured 17 No-Limit tournaments held both at the Bellagio poker room and the Fontana Lounge. Grospellier won the title by defeating former World Poker Tour champion Nam Le. Grospellier also earned a gold bracelet and a seat in the April 2009 WPT world title at the Bellagio.

Doug Dalton, director of poker operations at the Bellagio, said that month-long event was "an incredible success and we anticipate an even larger turnout for the Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December."
