Station Casinos celebrated the opening of its newest resort casino, Aliante Station, Nov. 11 with a spectacular fireworks display shortly before the doors swung open to the public at 11:11 p.m.

Aliante Station is Stations’ 18th property in Southern Nevada and follows the upscale Southwestern-style theme established by Red Rock Canyon casino and resort.

The $662 million "locals" oriented resort and casino is located at the corner of the North 215 Beltway and Aliante Parkway in North Las Vegas.

A planned community near picturesque hills and mountain vistas, Aliante is located about 15 miles northwest of the Las Vegas Strip.

Aliante Station was ushered in by a fireworks display at 10 p.m. and the grand opening followed about 60 minutes later.

The resort is a 50-50 partnership between subsidiaries of Station Casinos and the Greenspun Corporation with Station serving as property manager.

Like other Station properties, Aliante is heavily weighted with community-friendly amenities. For instance there’s a 16-screen Regal Cinema motion picture theater with stadium seating and digital surround sound. There’s also an Arcade Center with 24 of the latest fast-action video games.

Aliante also features six restaurants, including an international all-you-can-eat buffet with live cooking stations.

The sprawling casino has more than 2,500 slot/video poker machines, including 1,500 of the latest and most popular penny-based games.

The casino’s live pit has 40 table games including blackjack, roulette, craps, Pai Gow poker, mini-baccarat, midi-baccarat, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and 3 Card Poker.

There’s also a 12-seat, smoke-free poker room, high limit room and 170-seat race and sports book.

The hotel features 202 guest rooms, each equipped with creature comforts such as flat screen TVs, CD players, iPod hook-ups, mini-bars and wireless Internet connections.

To reach Aliante Station, take I-15 north from Las Vegas to the North 215 Beltway, then exit on Aliante Parkway. Or you can take the 215 Beltway north to Aliante.

Fireworks ignite opening

Station Casinos has a tradition of celebrating a grand opening with a fireworks show which dates back to 1994 with Boulder Station, the company’s second property opening. The fireworks fun continued thereafter with every property the company built from the ground up including the openings of Texas Station in 1995, Sunset Station in 1997, Green Valley Ranch in 2001 and Red Rock Resort in 2006.

"Fireworks shows are one of those universal experiences that make everyone happy," said Joe Hasson, vice president/general manager of Aliante Station. "What better way to open our doors to the community then with an amazing fireworks show."

The Grucci’s of New York were commissioned to produce the grand opening fireworks show. They spent nearly 60 hours to choreograph the show and another 320 hours setting it up.
