HOLLYWOOD PARK

DRAMA CAT: First-time starter broke slow and was far back. She was then sent between horses to chase the pace, but was caught four and five wide till the top of the lane. She split rivals again and made a strong late run to just miss the place by a nose.

REAL LIFT: Was 3-for-3 at Holly Park, but that streak ended with a third place finish. Look for her to start another streak in her next start for her new connections.

LAS PATRONAS LADY: Broke very slow in the 7 furlong claimer and was dead last until the top of the stretch. She came storming home to prevail in a stiff drive. This girl looks like she can move up and repeat.

TAXI FLEET: Was between horses in the early going, then stalked off the rail leaving the backstretch. He went to the inside on the turn, got to the front and won in fine style. Fleet was claimed by top trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, who is deadly first off the claim. Look for his new owners to get a quick return on their 25K investment. $$$$$

WINE AND DYNE: Just loved this Keeneland shipper in her first start here as she was let go at 8-1. She was close up early, but lost ground and several positions when she had to take back. Got going and made a strong late run to just miss by half a length. This girl can run and will be a very good bet in her next start. $$$$$

TIMES GONE BY: This guy looked super on the track in his first turf start for trainer Dick Mandella. He got bumped hard into the first turn and was knocked off stride just a tad. Came four wide into the stretch and later five in the drive to the wire, but missed the bob in a very unlucky loss.

KAYD KODAUN: Irish invader gave these lasses a little lesson on how to run a mile on the grass as she cruised to an easy win. She could turn out to be a good one for trainer Paddy Gallagher.

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

HIGH TUNE: First-time starter could not handle the runaway winner, but was three lengths clear of the field. Should get her diploma in second start.

STEVIE’S FUHRLONG: Was very rank in the early going and the jock had to drop her back. She came back to pick up the show dough.

SUMO POWER: First-time starter looked set for the grass as he is royally bred for the turf. When the race came off he had to run on the main, but still put in a nice late run. When you spot Sumo on the grass, run to the window and bet. Don’t walk. $$$

CANDLESTICK PARK: All this one needs is some pace to run at in his next start and he will get home on top.

TOY TOY TOY: Was very unlucky to lose this race as he looked like a winner. Had to be steadied hard off heels, but came on to just miss by a head. His trainer Moger is also due for some luck. He has had a tough time of it lately.

MERUS MIAMI: First-time starter was boxed behind the front runner, but shifted out once in the stretch. He ducked back in and surged late to get up for a real big-time win.
