Pistons -7½ at Kings (198)
It’s been an interesting first seven games for the Sacramento Kings. The opening four on the road – all losses. The next three at home – all wins. And those three victories were by a total of 34 points. Those last few efforts will make the Maloof brothers happy.
Can you name any Kings player? We’re not sure the Detroit Pistons can. Bettors should know that the Kings have five players averaging double figures in scoring, including rookies Jason Thompson (6-foot-11 from Rider) and Spencer Hawes (7-foot from Washington). Guard Kevin Martin, in his fourth-year from Western Kentucky, leads at just over 22 points per game.
In contrast, the Pistons have familiar names like Prince, Wallace, Hamilton and now Allen Iverson. But Detroit is just 2-4 against the spread and off consecutive losses to New Jersey and Boston. This is the first of a four-game trek for Motown with later stops at Golden State, the unbeaten LA Lakers and Phoenix. The Kings have two more home games following tomorrow’s visit to the LA Clippers.
We won money on Sac-town a few nights ago and the points look good against a team not on its ‘A’ game. KINGS.
