RABATASH: New York invader was very eager to run and was pulling his jockey out of the saddle. Jock took him to the outside, but had to steady him off heels into the turn and lost much of his momentum. Give this guy a big shot in second start on the West Coast.

MAGNA CUM LAUDE: Really liked this one’s chances in this 25K maiden claimer, but he hopped at the start, got between horses and really never got untracked in this race. Let’s give him another chance. The price will be right.

SQUALLCREEK: Looked really good on the track and seemed to have a big shot coming into the stretch, but got caught down on the inside. By the time he got out, it was too late. He did get claimed by a top outfit and will get a big jockey upgrade in his next start. $$$

HOIST THE SAIL: Was best in this, but was between horses and had to be steadied hard leaving the backstretch. He continued between foes on the turn and into the stretch, but had to wait off heels in midstretch. He then angled in for room and put a head in front, but could not hold on.

GATO GO WIN: This is one very fast 2yo and he ran another huge race when blitzing this crew under a hand ride. Look for big things from this guy. This race could end up being a very big key race. $$$$$

SUPERFECTA: Was taking a big drop in class after running some very good races. He won this race with something left and did not get claimed. Maybe his trainer put one over.

COMMON TRUST: Just loved this guy in this race and singled him in the late Pick Four. Myself, like many fellow horse players, never seem to get a good ride from a top jock when you need one. I had Gomez going for me, but it really didn’t look like him riding. He was five wide on the turn, then 10 into the stretch. He came home fast and just did lose by a nostril. My Pick Four went down the tubes with a horse that was several lengths the best. However, someone hit the Pick Six for $154K.

TIMIAS: Ran like he really loves this surface and won for fun under a tight hold. If this one comes back one more time at the meet we will dig deep and take our shot. $$$$$

LADY LUMBERJACK: First-time starter could not run down the 60-cent odds on choice, but ran a bang-up second despite trouble.

MUSIC TEACHER: Was steadied hard at the start and had to take back to last. She was making a move, but was steadied sharply off heels. She shifted out for room into the stretch and closed fast to pick up the place in a super effort.

CHOCTAW CHIEF: Looked like the winner into the stretch, but got caught behind the leaders. He shifted out and surged late, but just did miss.

BROTHER JOE: Was squeezed back to last at the start. He got going and swung six wide into the stretch. Just could not make up the ground in what was a horrible trip.

EVEN ODDS: This one is sitting on the maiden breaker going long on the grass.
