Silverton GM moves up to Majestic corporate post

Fran Inman, general manager of the Silverton Hotel and Casino, has been promoted to senior vice president-corporate development for Majestic Realty Co., a firm owned and operated by Ed Roski Jr.

In the announcement, Roski said Inman had been with his company since 1989 and has shown "a tremendous capacity for developing and implementing programs that match our company’s commitment to both the bottom line and support of the people in the communities in which we operate."

Inman will be relocating to Los Angeles, where Majestic Realty is involved in the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, the Staples Center and the Industry Hills Sheraton.

David Endy, a former Paul-Son Gaming employee, has joined Ixtapa Gaming as an account executive.

Well-known gaming executive Craig Ghelfi has left his post at the MotorCity Casino in Detroit to join the management team at Detroit’s Greektown Casino.

Park Place Entertainment Corp. has made a number of appointments for its properties on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Larry Spencer is the new vice president of casino marketing at Grand Casino Gulfport; Brooke Coppedge is vice president of hotel operations at Grand Casino Biloxi; Heidi Hamers is director of database marketing and promotions for all company properties in the Mid-South Region; Missy Escher will be directing all advertising for the Mid-South Region; Theresa Vann is the new vice president of advertising for the Mid-South Region; and Kelly Walker is the director of retail for Grand Casino Gulfport.

Now that Park Place has decided to keep the Las Vegas Hilton, management has announced appointments to key executive positions.

Julius Kazen has been promoted to vice president of hotel operations, while Cindy O’Keefe will be director of meetings and conventions in her capacity as assistant vice president of hotel operations. Marci Riedy has been promoted to vice president of finance.

With the departure of long-time super bookie Art Manteris, a vacancy in the race and sports depart-ment’s leadership will be filled by Jimmy Wike, vice president of casino operations. And Richard Langlois, vice president of marketing, will expand his responsibilities to include casino marketing.

Harrah’s Entertainment has named a pair of executives to head two of its properties. Joe Hasson was appointed senior vice president and general manager in Lake Tahoe. Bill Noble is taking over as senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s New Orleans.

Noble is leaving his position at Harrah’s North Kansas City and will be replaced by Ted Bogich, former assistant general manager at Harrah’s Las Vegas. His job will be taken by Gary Selesner, most recently general manager of Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.

Ameristar Casinos Inc. has named Alan Rose senior vice president of construction for all six of its casinos.

Mark Lefever, former COO at the Desert Inn, has been named general manager of the Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella, Calif.

David A. Nichter has been appointed support services manager for the Stratosphere.

Phil Kuta has been promoted to player development manager at Sam’s Town in Las Vegas.

Eric Nelson is the new president and CEO of Viva Gaming & Resorts. He will be joined on the board of directors by Cliff McCarlie, Bruce McDonald and Stephen Irwin.

Christopher C. Domijan is the new CFO at Nevada Gold & Casinos Inc.

Renee LiButti has been named marketing director at What’s On magazine.

Bob Griffin is the new general manager of the Isle of Capri in Tunica, Miss. His previous position as vice president and general manager of the Isle of Capri in Lake Charles, La., has been filled by Jay Luchun.
