UTEP +17 at Houston (74½)

There’s much at stake in what figures to be a good old fashioned Texas shootout. Houston is tied with Tulsa and Rice at the top of the Conference-USA West standings at 5-1 with Texas El Paso right behind at 4-2. Compare that with the East Division where East Carolina at 4-2 is the only team above .500 in the league play. Both teams enter the game hot. Houston has scored 112 points in its last two games, including 70 against Tulsa. UTEP got off to an 0-3 start, but has since won five of its last seven.

The Miners have scored a combined 73 points in recent wins over Louisiana-Lafayette and SMU. In their matchups with Tulsa and Rice the combined totals were 114 and 93 points respectively. With Houston carrying as much offensive ammo as Tulsa and Rice, look for another result to threaten the century mark. OVER.
