A judge has denied requests by Las Vegas Sands Corp. to reconsider or reduce a $58.6 million judgment owed to a Hong Kong businessman who said he helped the casino company win a gambling license in Macau.
Los Angeles lawyer John O'Malley represents Richard Suen. He says he hopes Las Vegas Sands will promptly pay the judgment after the Monday decision by the Clark County judge.
Las Vegas Sands is expected to post a bond on the judgment within five days. Rusty Hardin, a Houston-based attorney for Las Vegas Sands, promises to appeal the case to the Nevada Supreme Court.
The judgment consisted of $43.8 million awarded by a jury and $14.8 million in interest tacked onto the verdict.Related Articles:
