Red Hawk Casino opening doors tonight

The Red Hawk Casino, located just 30 minutes east of Sacramento in Placerville, California, is officially is holding its grand opening at 7 p.m. this evening (Dec. 17).

The casino features approximately 2,000 Class III slot machines, 75 table games, six restaurants, four bars, over 3,000 lighted and covered parking spaces and a gift shop. The casino also includes an entire level of smoke-free-dining.

"When Red Hawk Casino opens, it will set a new standard for gaming in Northern California," said Peter Fordham, General Manager of Red Hawk Casino. "Our vast selection of gaming will appeal to players of all experience levels by offering the newest games, as well as some old favorites. Red Hawk Casino will also feature world-class dining options to satisfy every appetite from casual to gourmet. Guests will also enjoy nightly, live entertainment by regional performers at the Stage Bar."

Three gaming executives for the Red Hawk Casino were named last month with Peter Nairn being named Vice President of Table Games, Corey Plummer being tabbed Vice President of Slots and Nick Rodgers being selected Chief Financial Officer.

Nairn has more than 30 years of industry experience and came to Red Hawk Casino from Cimarron Casino in Perkins, Oklahoma, where he served as general manager. As VP of Table Games for Red Hawk Casino, Nairn will direct the operations of the casino’s approximately 75 table games including live action Blackjack, Baccarat, Pai Gow Poker, and 3-Card Poker.

Plummer came to Red Hawk Casino from Aristocrat Technologies, Inc. in Las Vegas, where he served as the strategic marketing manager. Plummer has managed slots, table games, VIP and loyalty programs for several casinos, both domestically and internationally for over 10 years. Plummer will be responsible for the new casino’s more than 2,000 slot machines.

"Peter and Corey will ensure the best possible gaming experience for our guests," said Fordham. "Their successful track record of managing gaming operations at several casinos will help establish Red Hawk Casino as the premier gaming destination in Northern California.

Rodgers, who holds a B.S. in Business Administration from UNLV, came to Red Hawk Casino from Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, California, where he served as Controller. Rodgers has also held senior level financial positions at Tahoe Biltmore Casino Resort in Crystal Bay, Nevada, Horizon Casino Resort in Stateline, Nevada and at Caesars Lake Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
