NC Wilmington at College of Charleston

Carolina First Arena

Charleston, South Carolina

NC Wilmington at College of Charleston (-17): Perennial Big Dancer College of Charleston (8-1, 4-1 ATS) is one of those consistent basketball teams that bettors love – it plays well on the road as well as at home, is consistent, and somehow always finds ways to cover the point spread.

The team did go just 16-17 last season under first-year coach Bobby Cremins but the starting five this campaign is solid with guards Goudelock (13.2 PPG LY) and White (13.2) and the frontcourt of Johnson (11.2), Scott (10.8, 6.7 RPG) and Wiggins all being able to provide points.

In the Cougars last two games – both 15-point wins – they blasted UNC Greensboro, 77-62 (-5 ½) and Coastal Carolina, 73-58 to up their winning streak to seven straight games.

Last Saturday, UNC Wilmington (3-7, 3-4 ATS) was rolled 89-68 by Vermont and is in a rebuilding mode this season after losing Carter (15.8 PPG LY), Fountain (12.9), Kuljanin (12.8, 9.2 RPG) and Hendley (12.5). That’s 54 points a game they got last year from guys far, far from campus now.

Also in the negative column for the Seahawks (77-4-90.0 PF-PA) is the sad fact that at this point in the season they have given up more points per game (90.0) than any other team in college basketball, meaning that the team’s overall defense could be considered a real weakness. And College of Charleston (79.9 PPG) can score. COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON -17.
