One of the most-anticipated cards in UFC history goes off this evening at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas with three big fights capturing most of the attention on the card in the fastest growing sport in the country.
In a light heavyweight fight, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (-110) faces off against Wanderlei Silva (-120), Silva was made a -120 favorite at both Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. properties and at the host Palms Casino. The line has moved little to date with Jackson’s best buyback being +100 at The Palms and at the Las Vegas Hilton’s SuperBook.
In the UFC interim Heavyweight championship, scheduled for five rounds, Frank Mir (11-3) will fight Antonio Nogueira (31-4-1) in a battle where was installed as anywhere from a -400 opening line favorite (Harrah’s) to -360 (Palms, LV Hilton). The
buyback on underdog Mir is +300 at both The Palms and the Hilton.
Getting together for another widely anticipated match of the night will be the still undefeated Rashad Evans (17-0-1) and Forrest Griffin (16-4) who will be fighting for the UFC’s Light Heavyweight championship.
Griffin opened as a -140 favorite at Harrah’s properties and as a -130 chalk at The Palms with Evans respective paybacks +110 at both places. Currently (Friday afternoon) at the Las Vegas Hilton Griffin was a -135 favorite at the Hilton with Evans bets returning +115 for their backers.
