15-1 TAKES HARRAH’S, LUCKY’S CONTESTS
Thumbs up to 9 entrants that went 15-1 to split the combined pot of over $121,000 in the respective Harrah’s and Lucky’s weekly NFL contests.
The three top scores in the Harrah’s Progressive will split the $85,082 jackpot. The Harrah’s contest did not have a perfect 16-0 score all season, causing 15 carryovers.
Lucky’s pot of $36,000 was split among six winners across Nevada, who receive $6,000 apiece. The other previous winner at Lucky’s won $48,000 back in Week 8. – Mark Mayer
HOWARD 7-2 TO DEFEND HR TITLE
The Las Vegas Hilton has posted early lines for the major league home run title and to no surprise last year’s winner Ryan Howard of the world champion Philadelphia Phillies opened as the 7-2 favorite.
Alex Rodriguez (7-1, Yankees) and Evan Longoria (8-1, Rays) are the others in single digits. Top contenders include Ryan Braun (10-1, Brewers), Prince Fielder (12-1, Brewers), Mark Teixeira (15-1, Yankees) and Albert Pujols (20-1, Cards). Top longshots: Josh Hamilton (30-1, Rangers), Manny Ramirez (40-1, Dodgers) and Lance Berkman (60-1, Astros).
