by Ray Poirier | Construction was about to start on the smallest of the planned casinos in Kansas but that didn’t stop all of the state’s major politicians from turning out for the celebration.

Headed by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, a strong supporter of the effort to establish revenue producing casinos around the state, the Dodge City event attracted the senate president, the speaker of the house, the head of the lottery commission that is in charge of the state’s casinos, and a whole bevy of local dignitaries.

The $87 million project is being constructed by Butler National Corporation (BUKS), an operator of aerospace and services businesses.
