Bucks +2 at T’wolves (199½)
These are not your "Timberpups" that started the season 4-23. They are now Kevin McKale’s Timberwolves, winners of four straight and a stellar 8-1 against the spread in their last nine starts. The difference in large part is McKale, who gave up his administrative duties with Minnesota to become coach. And his persona from past Boston Celtics championship teams is paying dividends. Randy Foye has emerged of late, averaging 19 points a game in the four wins to start January. Also Mike Miller, one of the league’s top 3-point shooters, is now healthy and contributing.
As for Milwaukee, it’s been a year of inconsistency. The Bucks stand 18-20 and have not won consecutive games in three weeks. Milwaukee is off a 104-102 win over New Jersey, a game the Bucks were 7-point home favorites. The 2-point line looks to have value for Minnesota, which destroyed Oklahoma City by 42 in its last outing. You may want to look at the total since Minnesota has hit the 100 mark in five of the last six games. No reason to "buck" a hot team the oddsmakers have not adjusted to since we’re talking about a 10-25 record. T’WOLVES / OVER.
