Pacers -2 at Warriors (233)
No way to avoid this one. Why? Look at this total! The 233 is a new area code in totals, the highest we’ve seen in the NBA this season. And, it may be too low! Both Indiana and Golden State believe that winning basketball means the first team to 120 points. More often than not, it’s the opponent that gets there. Here are the combined totals for the last four Indiana games: 240 vs the Lakers, 223 vs Phoenix, 250 vs Denver and 239 vs Sacramento.
Golden State games have exceeded 233 just five times in 38 games, but one of those occasions was the previous meeting at Indiana where the Pacers prevailed 127-120 or 247. Since the Lakers beat Golden State 130-113 or 243, the Warriors have had five games go below 233 with one push. Common sense would indicate that most any NBA contests don’t reach 233, but we’re not common and often sacrifice sense for cents. There’s no sign of defense when these teams play. Overtime is our ally if it happens, but we think a repeat of the 246 at Indiana could come within regulation time. OVER.
