Horse Racing Betting Tips by Richard Saber |

SANTA ANITA

ROYAL SEAL: Long-time maiden exploded down the lane and won going away. He ran like he loves this track and has the looks of a horse that will come back and run another big race.

SUSANANDA: First-time starter ran a much better than the result for the sneaky duo of trainer Richard Matlow and low profile jock Enriquez. This girl had some late run and could be a nice price in next start.

GREY STORM: Ran good down the stretch in posting a hard-fought win. He was red-tagged by top Northern California trainer Steven Miyadi so this guy could be heading up North. Keep an eagle eye open. If he shows his face there, dig deep and bet. $$$$$

YOU IS WHAT YOU IS: Looked good in this spot, but got caught up in a speed duel and faded in the final furlong. Got claimed by Jerry Holendorfer, who pops at a high percentage first off the claim.

CAPTIVATING LYRICS: Broke out in what was a very slow start. She then was between horses and had to steady hard when in tight. Tried to make a four-wide run into the stretch, but could not sustain her bid. Next time she just might at what will be a big price.

DREAM NOW: Was trying the grass for the first time and just sizzled down this 6½- furlong turf course. Ran like a freak on the grass. $$$$$

UFFIZI: Was being dropped by trainer Mike Mitchell looking for the win. Could not run down the lone speed, but was gaining with every stride at the wire to fall short by less than a length. There were no claims so Mike will get another shot with this buy. May be a great single in the picks.

WINE ON THE PORCH: Ran huge in winning this 7-furlong race from his rail post, this guy can flat out run and will be heading up the ladder.

CHANGE MY LUCK: Needed this girl at almost 18-1 in her comeback race, but she had a wide trip. Did come flying late and just missed the place. There will be no 17-1 next time, but expect a trip to the winner’s circle. $$$$$

MR GRUFF: Speedball was coming off a lengthy layoff, but looked all the part as he blitzed this bunch. Has the looks of a horse that will move up and score against winners.

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

HEATED REBEL: Was a nutcase in the gate as he hopped at the start and was far back in another galaxy. He started to make a run, but wound up four-wide into the stretch. Came flying down the stretch, but had to settle for the place.

CATALINA FOX: Could not run down the odds on lone speed, but finished more than five lengths clear of the rest. Will be one tough cookie next time out. $$$$$

EIGHT BELOW: Was never far back while down on the inside. He got blocked, was steadied hard and fell back. Looked to be done, but came on again and won going away in a big-time effort for a 4K claimer. This one will move up and repeat.

WILD BUDDY: Was best in here, but got blocked down on the rail. When finally getting out, he surged late and missed by just a nostril. $$$$$
