Since they first hit the music scene in the early 1970s, the Little River Band has thrilled audiences all over the globe with their outstanding music and concert performances. Now in their third decade and still ever popular, fans can check out the Little River Band at Sam’s Town Live! on Friday, and Saturday. Both shows start at 8 p.m.

Starting their career with a big band in the mid 1970’s, this Australian group immediately landed three Australian Top 20 singles and two Top Ten albums. The Little River Band began touring with popular groups and artists like the Doobie Brothers, Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac, Santana and Jimmy Buffet. Quickly becoming America’s favorite, the band had hit after hit, with songs like "It’s A Long Way There," "Happy Anniversary," "Reminiscing," "Lady," "Lonesome Loser," and "Man On Your Mind." In 1978, the band from down under hit gold with their album Diamantina Cocktail. Three albums went platinum: Sleeper Catcher, First Under the Fire, and Greatest Hits. Early in 1982, Billboard gave the Little River Band the honor of being the only act from anywhere to have scored a top 10 American single every year from 1978 to 1982.

While the members of the Little River Band have changed throughout the years, the intense dedication of the band at its core has remained strong. The new millennium members include consummate guitarist Stephen Housden, who has been with the group for twenty years, American vocalist Wayne Nelson, drummer/vocalist Kevin Murphy, keyboard and saxophonist Glenn Reither and guitarist/vocalist Greg Hind.
