The smooth style of Al Martino comes to the Suncoast Showroom in the Suncoast Hotel & Casino, Saturday and Sunday. Showtime is 8 p.m.

Al Martino went from building homes to building a career as a pop vocalist. During the early years, Al worked for his father’s construction business during the day and at night he sang in local saloons. He received national attention in the early 50’s when he won acclaim on "Arthur Godfrey’s Talent Scouts" television show.

His first single "Here In My Heart" sold more than a million copies and skyrocketed to number one, sending Al well on his way. He performed at the world famous Palladium in London and was honored to be the first American to be charted with a number one record, a fact that can be documented in the "Guinness Book of World Records."

During the span of Al’s career, he had 34 single and 2 dozen albums reach the charts. Memorable hits include, "I Love You Because," "I Love You More and More Every Day," "Painted, Tainted Rose," "Mary In The Morning," "Can’t Help Falling In Love," and "Volare." His most famous, "Spanish Eyes," achieved several gold and platinum awards.
