The nice thing about betting the Super Bowl is that even with losing wagers, you still can win something.
For instance at the Stratosphere, a "Big Game Package" is being offered for $150 that includes two nights accommodations (including a free room upgrade for the Feb. 1 weekend), a bucket of beer, two hot dogs and two tickets to either the American Superstars or BITE production shows.
"If you cannot be at the Big Game, there is nothing remotely comparable to being in Vegas," said Ed Malinowski, race and sports director for the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower. "Add in the fact that the Stratosphere offers so many ways to bet a game and you arguably have the greatest sports day of the year."
Here’s some of the other activities planned around Vegas.
• PT’s will be hosting Super Bowl parties at all 32 tavern locations on Sunday. Guests can enjoy a $10 all you can eat stadium buffet. The special includes three flavors of wings, boneless wings, sliders, stadium hot dogs, pizza, chips and salsa. Drink specials include $2.50 Bud and Bud Light mugs, in addition to Red Bull cocktails for $5.
• Jerry’s Nugget has a package this week where a $20 play guarantees a Jerry’s Nugget football T-Shirt. The North Las Vegas casino will also host a live radio remote (1400 AM) featuring former college football coach Harvey Hyde.
Those who arrive early at Jerry’s will be treated at 10 a.m. to free donuts and coffee. Partygoers can feast on $1 jumbo hot dogs, $1 large pizza slices and $1 Coors beverages (beginning at 2:30 p.m.)
• Arizona Charlie’s (both East and West locations) will be giving out free long sleeve T-Shirts with a $50 game bet.
• Lucky’s Race and Sports Books (Plaza and Terrible’s locally) will also hand out a free Lucky’s T-Shirt for those making prop bets of up to $50.
