As the country’s major companies attempt to deal with the current economic problems, many have announced the termination of hundreds, if not thousands of employees.

That is not the case with the Mohegan Sun, operators of a casino in Uncasville, Connecticut.

According to Cathy Soper, the public relations manager, the casino has not fired 500 employees as previously reported online but achieved the same results through attrition.

She noted in an e-mail that, "Positions were eliminated through attrition, meaning when someone left (for whatever reason), the position was not filled."
