Phil Satre appointed to IGT's board of directors

by Ray Poirier | Phil Satre, the former chairman and CEO of Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. and one of the most-highly respected executives in the gaming community, has been appointed to the board of directors of International Game Technology (IGT).

Satre, 59, who retired from Harrah’s after 25 years of service, including 10 years as the company’s chief executive officer, will join the IGT board immediately upon regulatory approval and will be included on the slate of directors to be presented to shareholders at the annual meeting on March 3.

Dr. Mark Yoseloff, who indicated previously that he planned to retire from his post as CEO of Shuffle Master, Inc. (SHFL), announced that he will be stepping down on March 15.

Tim Parrott, former president and CEO of Australia-based Aristocrat Technologies Inc., will serve Shuffle Master as CEO-Elect.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) announced the expansion of its management team and named Leonard DeAngelo as senior vice president of its Asia operations.

Also, the company said it had appointed Nigel Roberts as president of its $2.7 billion Marina Bay Sands resort in Singapore.

DeAngelo recently served as executive vice president of operations for Penn National Gaming Inc. (PENN).

Magna Entertainment Corp. (MECA) announced the departure of Charlie J. Williams from its board of directors.
