7:35 p.m. at Staples Center
Spurs -8 at LA Clippers (184½)
San Antonio is clearly the better team and has won both meetings this season, including a 106-84 drubbing at home. But in the first encounter way back on Nov. 17, the Spurs won 86-83 in LA as shockingly a 2½-point underdog. Tonight the Spurs return to the Staples Center as an 8-point favorite. If you like the Clippers, there is value.
Another factor against San Antonio is that this is the second of a back-to-back coming off last night’s humbling 18-point loss at Portland. San Antonio has also been fighting injuries with Manu Ginobili sidelined another two weeks and Tim Duncan sitting out games during the trip. The Clippers are just 8-22 at home, but recently beat Golden State and unbelievably the Boston Celtics. Of course LA then proceeded to lose to lowly Sacramento and Charlotte.
Still, the Clips may get up for a Spurs team that has owned them through the years. Aside from the hot Tony Parker, we may not be getting San Antonio at its best and that line this time may be overpriced. LA CLIPPERS.
