In an effort to provide the latest and most compelling table games for its players, Aliante Station this Saturday will conduct a "taste test" in which customers can try out the industry’s newest games.

The action takes place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Aliante’s table game pit, where players can experience the latest offerings from four top game manufacturers.

The games will be conducted with "play" chips so there’s no actual cost to the players.

The companies that will provide the games are Gaming Entertainment Inc., Shuffle Master, 10 Stix and National Table Games. Company reps will be on hand to answer questions and point out nuances of the new games.

"We often receive requests from guests about new table games, and we thought this would be a good way to poll their likes and dislikes," said John Fort, Aliante Station’s director of casino operations. "These table games are brand new and have never been seen before."

Fort added that, in addition to getting a flavor of the newest games, players will have a chance at winning $1,000 in cash.

"Players will be asked to vote for their favorite new games on a ballot, which will be placed in a drum," Fort said. "When all the ballots are in we’ll have a drawing with the winner receiving $1,000."

Fort expects about 200 players to participate in the sampling, many of whom were invited by the casino’s player development department.

But, he added, there should be table space available for walk-ins. "We won’t turn anyone away who wants to participate," he said.

For its part, Aliante will use the player feedback in deciding which new games will hit the casino floor.

"At least the top vote getter will be on the floor," Fort said.
