Penn State +7 vs Purdue (122)

The Big 10 tourney quarterfinal marks the third meeting between the two with each winning on its home court. It’s likely neither team will reach the 70s, although Purdue is the more explosive of the two teams. The Boilermakers had a high of 81 points in Big 10 play, but exceeded that mark four times outside the league. Penn State has not allowed more than 79 and is remembered for that 38-33 snoozer win against Illinois.

The Nittany Lions are probably in the NCAA tournament on the strength of a 22-10 record and two wins over Illinois, but a victory over Purdue would virtually guarantee entry. Purdue is 1-4 against the spread in their last five and was on the sidelines when Penn State easily beat Indiana yesterday. Even though Purdue has the home court edge with the game in Indianapolis, the Hoosiers did as well and it didn’t help. PENN ST.

Bonus selection: Boston College (ACC) +10½.
