6 p.m. at Madison Square Garden
Syracuse +7½ vs Louisville (131½)
The Big East championship game is no stranger to Syracuse, but the road there was far different than past years. The Orange won a 6-OT marathon with Connecticut then survived another OT to beat West Virginia the next night. Certainly stamina has to be a factor, but many were wrong thinking Syracuse would have nothing left for the Mountaineers. The Orange come in as 7½-point underdogs at the Hilton, while you could get 7 at Station Casinos earlier in the day.
Louisville has had a much easier road to the final, playing just two games and winning each by double digits. One would expect Rick Pitino to make this a track meet to wear Syracuse out. On the season, Syracuse has allowed an average of 72.3 points per game and scores 81.5. Louisville averages 73.9, which makes this 131½ total somewhat surprising. Louisville did win the earlier meeting at home 67-57, but this game is in the Garden and we expect a high energy level and plenty of scoring. OVER.
