Ohio State +6½ vs Purdue (124)
The final game before the NCAA tournament selection committee breaks down the 64 +1 teams. Both Ohio State and Purdue figure to be in the Dance so this is just for the Big Ten championship. The underdog Buckeyes have relished this role in the tourney, upsetting Wisconsin as a 3-point dog and top-seeded Michigan State getting 8. Purdue has breezed to a pair of double-digit victories over Penn State and Illinois.
The Buckeyes have won four in a row and playing their best ball of the season. The upset of Michigan State was especially impressive since the Spartans won both previous meetings this season by 11 points each. Purdue is 1-1 with the Buckeyes, winning at home by 25 and losing in Columbus by 8. The two teams totaled 152 and 125 in those matchups, which makes the 124 projected total look low. And we don’t mind getting more points these days with the Buckeyes. OHIO STATE / OVER.
