CONTEST PLANS AT EXCALIBUR

The Excalibur has gone through some very impressive upgrades to its casino and race and sports areas in recent months. There are also plans for a major horse racing contest at the start of April, along with a planned Keno contest sometime in August.

As for now, we were glad to find out about the 4 percent comp given to all race bettors. The comps go toward meals, rooms, shows and the spa. There is also a $25 "all you can eat" by just asking for a wristband. Sign us up!

MRKT A SIGNATURE TO ALIANTE SPORTS

The MRKT Sea and Land at Aliante is the only upscale restaurant we’ve seen with pillows. The resort’s signature restaurant, managed by Derick Rossmiller, has been a magnet for drawing customers into the Race and Sports Book. There is an outside patio and fireplace along with a 5,000-bottle wine list with 20 available by the glass. Players can use points accumulated on their Boarding Pass Rewards Card to pay for the meal. We’ll have the 10 oz filet mignon.
