Kentucky +2 at Creighton (139)
There’s plenty of rarities in this matchup. Kentucky in the NIT rather than the NCAA’s is almost unheard of. And the Wildcats not hosting this game in Lexington, but rather traveling to Omaha to face a mid-major like Creighton shows the lack of interest in Bluegrass Country. Plus, the host Blue Jays should be motivated after being snubbed by the NCAA committee despite 27 wins and a 12-1 spurt coming into this contest.
While Kentucky did win its first round NIT game by 10 over a struggling UNLV, the incentive to move on would seem to be with Creighton. Even though this is the NIT, a victory over a traditional national power like Kentucky would be huge for the Blue Jays basketball program and future recruiting. Creighton is 16-2 at home and we think that Omaha will come out strong to see the visiting Wildcats go down. CREIGHTON.
