12:30 p.m. at Atlanta
Lakers -3½ at Hawks (199½)
So who can stop Brother Kobe’s Traveling Salvation Show? Well, Atlanta will try today against a Lakers team that has won and covered the first four stops (Chicago, Oklahoma City, Detroit and New Jersey. The 8-point victory against the Nets was the closest of the four. And winning on the road is nothing new for Los Angeles, owning a 27-9 mark including a perfect 6-0 on the first East Coast trek. Combined, the Lakers are 9-0-1 against the spread on those two lengthy roadies.
The Hawks had been the hottest point spread cover team in the league with nine straight ATS wins until losing back to back at home to San Antonio and Boston. No disgrace falling to two of the NBA’s elite, but not a good omen facing arguably the very best team in the league. Atlanta lost the previous meeting with the Lakers in Los Angeles by 13. LA giving just 3½ seems too good to pass up. LAKERS.
