Master, I wish for a bonus.

Whichever one of the I Dream of Jeannie slots you happen to play will take you on a nostalgic trip back in time.

There’s the familiar theme music from the show and Jeannie (Barbara Eden) murmuring encouragement to her "Master" during the game play. I especially like the "I Dream of Jeannie Magic Spin" game. This version has 15-lines with a 10x max coin bet and is part of IGT’s TV Hits progressive – presently at $2,413,730.

You have to be playing loaded to win the progressive which I do play once in awhile. I start with a 15-line, 5-coin bet (75¢) which I do two or three times before going down to my usual 15-line, 3-coin 45¢ bet. Quite often this game hits something good during the first few pulls.

This version features a wild Jeannie Bottle symbol that lands on the second and fourth reels. If it’s in a winning combination the symbol expands to fill the reel. As an added bonus, payouts are doubled for any combinations that include the originating Jeannie Bottle symbol.

But the bonus features don’t stop there. You can also win the Magic Spin Bonus, which is triggered when three or more bonus symbols land from left to right on an active pay line. A second screen appears featuring Jeannie surrounded by magic bottles. She will urge you to "Pick a bottle, Master."

You select from the genie bottles on the screen which causes the wheel above the screen to spin. The wheel awards bonus wins from 15 to 1,000. If a magic Spin Multiplier indicator is displayed inside the bottle, a reel in the giant bottle at the top of the machine spins to determine a multiplier from 1 to 5. All bonus wins are then multiplied by the initiating line bet.

I’ve done very well during this bonus feature, especially getting the spin multiplier and landing on the 5x. I’ve come out of the bonus with a $40 win.

When this game is not hitting, I will change my play to 10-lines with 10-coin bet ($1) for a few hits then go back to my lower bet. This usually seems to boost the payout.

Once on the second pull at a $1 bet level, I got five-of-kind, with the Jeannie Bottle wild, for $200. This game is fun to play and, if you’re lucky, full of action. But you need to change your bet often to keep the payouts coming.
