SANTA ANITA

NOBLE COURT: John Sadler returnee was going 6½ furlongs on the downhill course and sitting off the pace. He exploded down the lane and won going away in what was a top notch effort.

MAGNIFICENT BLEND: Was bumped hard at the start and took back. Then he made a five wide move into the stretch and came on for the show dough. This looks like a good pickup for trainer Jeff Mullins, who red-tagged this guy for 10K.

SI CHIMI: Was let go at 42-1. He was bumped at the start and stalked the pace from the inside. Tried to rally after dropping back around the turn, but lacked room late. Finished a very game fourth and has the looks of a horse ready to pop.

OUI SAY OUI: Classy Irish import got bet like a good thing, but broke slow. Made a huge move after getting fanned six wide into the lane, but kept coming to just miss by half a length. This girl will be a singleton next time out. $$$$$

IRISH GYPSY: Last seen at Del Mar back in July when facing the likes of Stardom Bound. She was 4-1 and we all went to the window to take our shot. She showed good speed in battling it out down the lane and looked beat late. Still she would not give it up and got the hard fought win to pay $10.40. This girl has some quality. Will move up and win.

LISA JEAN: Exits the same race as the above mentioned Irish Gypsy. This first time starter was far back, came out for room but got pushed out in the stretch. She was bumped, but kept coming and just did miss the whole enchilada by two heads. $$$$$

MAID FOR MUSIC: First time in the States she bobbled at the start as a lot of horses have been doing lately when the pro ride cuts out from under them. She was bumped hard, got caught four wide into the second turn and five into the lane. Still, she kept coming and finished an impressive fourth. $$$

J P JAMMER: Stalked the early speed from the rail, but lacked room when trying to make a run through into the stretch. He took back, shifted out for room and surged between horses. Was flying late and picked up the place money in a super game effort.

ALE’S PRIDE/CACHUMA KID: Both were exiting a highly rated maiden special race on the pro ride and trying the grass for the first time. Both ran well, finishing fourth and fifth but may prefer the main. If switched back, dig deep and take a big shot. $$$$$

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

KENTUCKY OUTING: Just got DQ out of a winning effort when drifting out late. This girl is one tough cookie and will be hard to beat in her next start for her new connections.

JET JOCKEY: Was tracking the early speed and wanted to be let loose, but got shuffled back to last. She regained her composure and rallied, but could not run down the lone speed. $$$$$

PORTLAND STORM: Advanced under a strong hold from his inside position, but lacked room and had to come out. Just did miss by a neck.

TUDOR BLUE: Shipped in from Santa Anita and made quick work of this bunch. May have found a home here at the Gate.

DA BOMB: Seldom do you see a first-time starter running in an 8K maiden claimer get bet down to .60 cents on the dollar, but that’s what happened. Despite early trouble she stormed home to win by more than four lengths. There were no claims so it will be very interesting to see where she goes from here.

TITRANIUM: Was making what looked like a winning move, but got blocked behind a wall of horses. Once clear, came on and picked up the place. Next time with a clean trip.
