4 p.m. at Charlotte
Heat +4 at Bobcats (183)
With less than two weeks left in the regular season, Larry Brown has the surprising Bobcats in playoff contention just two games behind Detroit for the No. 8 slot in the East. Charlotte is 7-2 against the spread in its last 9, including four straight covers. The last two outings were a 10-point home win over the West leading LA Lakers and a tough 2-point double overtime loss at Boston.
Miami is five games ahead of Charlotte and a bit more secure for postseason play. However, the Heat are just 13-24 on the road including an early-season 100-87 defeat in Charlotte. The Heat won the two other meetings with the Bobcats in Miami 96-92 and 100-96. All three games exceeded the projected 183 total of tonight’s matchup.
Charlotte fans came out en masse to see LA’s Kobe Bryant and should fill the house for Miami’s Dwyane Wade. The level of urgency is more with Charlotte and Brown has his team playing its best ball at the right time. BOBCATS / OVER.
