Connecticut -17½ vs Louisville (137)
The NCAA women’s basketball championship final would seem a foregone conclusion. The game opened 14 and jumped to 17 at the Las Vegas Hilton. Heck it could be 25 and we wouldn’t look any other way. The first half line is UConn -10. At 38-0, Connecticut is trying to match the 1999 and 2002 national championship teams that finished out unbeaten seasons. The Huskies won both previous meetings with Louisville this season by 28 at home and 39 points in the Big East tournament final.
The most loyal Louisville backers will say that the Cardinals were the last team to beat UConn (last year) and that they upset Oklahoma on Sunday in the semifinals. But Connecticut has not had a tough game all year and, despite all the nice comments about Louisville from the Huskies side, it figures to be even more lopsided than the UNC-Michigan State men’s title clash. There are no slam dunks in betting, but this one is as close as any you will find. We’re talking first half and game wagers. And big! CONNECTICUT.
