SPECIAL K-ROD: 2 for 2 in saves for Frankie Rodriguez, who in one week has made Johan Santana the early favorite for most wins this year.
SECOND THOUGHTS TEX? Yanks $185K acquisition 1B Mark Teixeira gets booed in his hometown of Baltimore and flops at the plate. Then he sits out a game and reserve Nick Swisher has 9 RBI and is batting .471. Wonder if Tex is thinking he should have stayed in Anaheim and if the Yanks could have saved some $180 million settling for Swisher.
$$$: Below is the weekly chart that tracks how each team is doing against the betting line. If you look at Don Best.com each day and see a team listed at +2.7 units that translates to $270 for the season. It’s a nice barometer to indicate teams performing well or poorly over the season and in recent games. Also listed is the over / under vs the projected run total. (Ex: The over is 5-0-1 in Cleveland’s games.)– Mark Mayer
