Major League Baseball

Marlins -145 vs Nationals (9)

Things can’t get much worse for Washington, or can they? The Nats scored five runs in the first inning last night and led 6-3 in the ninth only to fall 9-6 in 11 and see their record dip to 1-9. And things can’t get much better for Florida, which has won six straight and owns the best record in the majors at 10-1. Florida starting pitcher Chris Volstad already owns a win this season over Washington, while Nats starter Daniel Cabrera lost to Florida at Dolphin Stadium. Cabrera’s 4.91 ERA is best among Washington’s starting rotation, which tells you why the Nats are 1-9. If this were the Yankees and not the Marlins, the line would be more like -245. So take the undersized line and run with it. MARLINS.
