NBA basketball:

Hoops lovers will be in ecstasy with three big playoff games tonight.

Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls -2½ : It wasn’t a fluke when Chicago knocked off Boston in their first meeting and just missed in the second. The Celtics are simply not the same without Kevin Garnett, and the Bulls are young and hungry. Give them the nod in this spot. Chicago -2 ½

San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks -4 ½: Dallas is another team that pulled the road upset to snatch home-court away from San Antonio. But the Spurs came back strong as their veterans woke up and decided they didn’t need their fallen comrade, Ginobli. They’ll be intense here and taking the points is the way to go. San Antonio +4 ½

L.A. Lakers -2 at Utah Jazz: The Lakers had an easy time of it in Los Angeles, but Utah should be more intense in their home arena. Nonetheless, the Lakers are a vastly superior team and, although they’ll have to play an entire 48 minutes tonight (something they didn’t need to do at home), they should be able to hold off Utah. Los Angeles -2.
