The first ever World Series of Slots was held last week at the Golden Nugget, and while the turnout wasn’t near the World Series of Poker’s 58,888 players, tournament officials were pleased with the inaugural event.
"A World Series of Slots has never been done before, and players from all over loved the head-to-head challenge," said Tilman Fertitta, Chief Executive Officer of Golden Nugget. "This event was a huge success that we’re sure to repeat in the future."
The big winner from the tournament was Michele Leone from San Diego, California. Leone walked away with the top prize of $100,000 and a WSOS bracelet. The runner up in the event was Vera Panjanon-Wolf, who took home $15,000.
